Homeless Hotspots
BBH Labs

Homeless Hotspots is a charitable experiment that launched at SXSW 2012.

Street Newspaper programs haven’t changed much since they started to help homeless individuals to get their life back on track. To update this model to an era of smartphones and connectivity this experiment is an attempt to simplify the transaction but also to bring from the shadows real persons, creating a human connection in which they stop begging and interact with the users while providing a service.

Beyond the earned media and the media coverage the program was success because 11 of the 13 participants moved from the streets to permanent housing.
